OPCA member NTEX AB, Sweden has exciting news to share today.

It is now official that NTEX acquires Gothenburg-based JEK Forwarding AB, a transport company focusing on sea and air freight.

This is NTEX seventh company acquisition in two years and it means that NTEX, through acquisitions and organic growth, will have a turnover of SEK 2.4-2.5 billion in 2020.

This makes NTEX the largest private freight forwarder in Sweden.

JEK Forwarding will be integrated with the Sea and Air business unit of NTEX as soon as possible, and will move into NTEX head office in Gothenburg.

NTEX founder and CEO, Thomas Ström says about this acquisition: ‘ JEK Forwarding is a reputable company with experienced and competent employees who are especially skilled at sea transport between Asia and Gothenburg, a development I know that several of our existing customers welcome.

In general, sea and air markets are where we see great growth potential. The fact that we will be more employees in these areas now, means that we can offer both existing and new customers even better solutions in the future.

In conjunction with this, the NTEX organization is changing and Allan Nielsen will be director of the Sea and Air business unit. Jerry Nilsson (NTEX) and Per Edward (JEK Forwarding) will become business unit managers for Air and Sea respectively.

This will enable us to focus clearly on each product and safeguard our ambition to continue growing in all product areas.’



Seven Acquisitions in two years

The acquisition of JEK Forwarding is NTEX’ seventh in two years.

The combined turnover for these companies has been SEK 740 million and in total this has meant that NTEX has almost 250 new employees.

The seven acquisitions are H Ekbergs Spedition, Ruba Logistics, Immingham Transport, AR Forwarding, France Sped, Fraktkompaniet and JEK Forwarding.
