Good News...

Glad to share with you the professional performance of OPCA member AFL NV (ALLROUND FORWARDING & LOGISTICS), Belgium.

They got order to coordinate the incoming flight and the dismantling from a new airbus helicopter at Antwerp port.

The helicopter has been dismantled and now is on its way from ex Antwerp port to Rio de Janeiro.

Survey Helicopter AIRBUS EC175B arrived on 24.08.2020 at AET terminal from France.

For vessel Grande Guinea, Expected Time of Sailing (ETS) from Antwerp was foreseen as 27.08.2020.

Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of the shipment to Rio de Janeiro is 15.09.2020.

They started with the defueling. Normal defueling is not possible through inlet.

Defueling was done directly from the fuel tank into the tank outside.

Also, three buckets of kerosine, at different positions were taken out underneath the helicopter.

As a result of that 550 L of kerosine was removed.

They started the dismantling 1 blade of the propeller and packaging 2 blades of the propeller.

There were wooden boxes for the main blades.

All gases were removed from fuel tank with CO2 gas.

Some parts were treated with grease to sustain the journey onboard the vessel against corrosion.

Parts required special attention before and after the shipment.

They also dismantled the main blades and arranged the packing for the blades in boxes.

Shipment of the helicopter was loaded on Saturday 29.08.2020.

AFL NV informed us that they handle such dismantling and shipments for planes, helicopters etc.

Congratulations to AFL NV (ALLROUND FORWARDING & LOGISTICS) for their excellent job!
